The Trade-itional Holiday Home was officially opened on October 15th, 2010! The combined efforts of all the trades and individuals invovled have produced a marvelous home! Really Taking Shape

Well our beautiful sign is up and thanks to Tyler Bowman for coming out to be in our photo this beautiful sunny Sept. morning. Tyler is one of two partners in Sign-A-Rama(where the world gets their signs), and Reaction Marketing, which features creativity with integrity, they have been donors to the Festival of Trees for the past 3 years, in doing the graphics work on the festival documents and now helping us with signage. As well Tyler is one of the Co-Chairs of the Festival of Trees along with Heidi Dandurand who is also in the photo. The sign in the front yard at 56 Clearview Dr. features all of our donors and we were so pleased so many people could join us for the photo!

Herman and Marty Bruin, owners of Bruins Plumbing and Heating Ltd., have donated ALL of the plumbing and heating needs for the house, to the amount of $20,000. They have been long time donors to the Festival of Trees, more than 10 years I am sure, and that is a lot of money contributed to health care!!

Also joining us today is John Rogers and Curtis Rogers from Fireplace Connections, they have done an excellent job on all the rock work on the outside of the house as well as the rock fireplace inside, they have been participating in the fundraising through house building for the Red Deer Hospital for the past 3 years.

We were so pleased that Steve Callaghan of Callaghan Construction could attend this morning, they are the company that framed our Trade-itional Holiday Home.

Nolan Nicoll was attending from Red Deer Electric, they have been great supporters of the Foundation for at least 3 years as well, they have done all the electrical inside and out.

Luc Vienneau from VNO Exteriors provided all the siding for our beautiful home, you really need to stop by and have a look, as we went inside this morning the sun was streaming in and it really is a wonderful home.

Rounding out our group this morning is Brian Steer from True-Line Contracting, they have been awesome to work with and as we come to a close on building our 2010 Trade-itional Holiday Home I smile and hope we can continue this wonderful relationship with True-Line for another year, it’s been great!!

Up She Goes!!

Thanks to the great team from Callaghan Construction the Trade-itional Holiday Home is taking shape. What a great job they do, building a really solid home. In talking to Steve Callaghan they have been donors to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation for the past 3 years. What awesome support of health care in our community!

"Standing Ovation"

Here I am again with just a little bit more because I forgot to tell you the most important thing about our TRADE-ITIONAL HOLIDAY HOME and that is that this wonderful home is FOR SALE!!!! In the past we have auctioned the home to people attending the Gala Preview Dinner at the Festival of Trees, but not this year. This beautiful home will be a show home for 6 months and will likely include some beautiful Christmas decorations (you just have to know those wonderful Festival of Trees Volunteer Decorators), they really do it up right!! Anyway we are hoping that the TRADE-ITIONAL HOLIDAY HOME, show home will be open by mid fall and YOU and your family could be the proud owners of this wonderful new residence. 2010 "Trade"-itional Holiday Home

Well the Festival of Trees is still 5 months away but eleven brave people stood outside on a very wet Tuesday to launch the Festival of Trees , TRADE-ITIONAL HOLIDAY HOME. This project is being managed by award winning TRUE-LINE HOME, who have made a 2010 corporate donation to Festival of Trees of $50,000!!!!! The Festival of Trees and the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation will be using this money, as well as all the donations made by the participating trades, to purchase cardiac equipment for the Red Deer Regional Hospital. The home is located at 56 Clearview Dr. a beautiful area located on the backside of the old Michener Centre site. We were SO pleased to have Jim and Nella Marshall from MARSHALL CONSTRUCTION join us for the photo today as one of our founding sponsors. It is one of their crews that are stripping forms from the foundation on this rainy day. These guys have moxie and they work rain or shine! Some of the other great people who came out on this rainy day, Tyler Bowman, one of our Festival of Trees 2010 co-chairs, Jacqueline Brooks Executive Director of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, Darcy Mykytyshyn, Managing Partner, (and Festival of Trees Volunteer) True-Line Homes, Sue Neufeld Founding Partner True-Line Homes, Brian Steer Construction Manager True-Line Homes, Luke Spicer, Festival volunteer and owner of, Creative Concrete, a TRADE-ITIONAL HOLIDAY HOME donor, Sherry Daniluk and myself Kathy Lacey, co-chairs of the Festival of Trees sponsorship committee. Many thanks to Brenda Mullaney our group photographer, Festival of Trees project officer. We hope to have a sign up at the site very soon announcing all our donors as they come on board and keep checking as we hope to have regular announcements showing the construction as we build our TRADE-ITIONAL HOLIDAY HOME.
